The CIC Summer Program in Mexico is sponsored by the Committee on Institutional Cooperation (CIC), a consortium of the Big Ten universities and the University of Chicago. The program provides qualified students with an opportunity to study Latin American literature and civilization while improving their Spanish skills and experiencing Mexican culture.
Social and Cultural Activities
Guest lectures, cultural and social events, movie screenings, and excursions to local historical sites enrich the CIC program. Two group excursions to sites in central Mexico are included in the program fee. Excursion destinations and dates will be announced during orientation in Guanajauto. Volunteer opportunities for great cultural immersion are also available, but not for academic credit.
