Graduate Fellowships


Graduate and professional students are eligible to compete for limited funds if they are participating in an approved study abroad programs offered through Study Abroad/University College, (registered in ABRD:XXXX). This merit scholarship applies only to the Summer & Short-Term scholarship, offered for programs during the Winter 2015 session. Eligible applicants must have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher.

General Criteria
  • Academic and personal objectives which are clearly defined and realistic
  • Academic achievement and preparation
  • Quality and completeness of the project proposal
  • Contribution of the study abroad experience to the student's overall academic program
  • Evidence of maturity, motivation and adaptability to a different cultural environment
  • Demonstrated interest in learning about foreign cultures
  • Relative financial need, based on Financial aid Award Summary information (current academic year FAFSA must be completed and processed by UI Office for Student Financial Aid)
  • US Citizens and US Permanent Residents (with completed FAFSA)

*The final deadline for application submission is 5 p.m. of the date listed above (close of business day in the Study Abroad office). No applications will be accepted after this date!
