Alternative Overseas Experiences
This section of our website is meant to provide students and recent graduates with a place to start their search for Internships, Service-Learning, and post-graduation Work abroad. You are encouraged to read through the information given in each section below, conduct your own online search for additional opportunities, and contact any provider directly for answers to program specific questions.
- The Resource Room in Study Abroad has a section devoted to these alternative overseas experiences that you are welcome to explore Monday through Friday from 9am-5pm (except UI Holidays). There are many additional materials available here such as The Big Guide to Living and Working Overseas by Jean-Marc Hachey, Delaying the Real World by Colleen Kinder, and Frommer’s 500 Places Where You Can Make a Difference, as well as brochures promoting additional providers not listed on this site.
