Room Usage Etiquette

It is the event-sponsoring unit director’s responsibility to make sure that the room is left in its original condition. Make sure in case of catering that plates, cups, cutlery and napkins are all thrown in the trash can and that the remaining food is removed as well. Please turn off the lights and the used AV equipment and make sure the door locks behind you.

If your event takes place between 8:00 am -5:00 pm on Monday through Friday in the IP Commons (1117 UCC) or UCC room 1124, the Events Coordinator and/or the Events Coordinator GA will be happy to assist you with this. Failure to follow the outlined policy for using UI conferences rooms or IP conference rooms may result in the loss of reservation privileges for the remainder of the academic year.

Please contact the IP receptionist Connie Carder (319-353-2700 or connie-carder@uiowa.edu) if you want to reserve the IP Commons, IP room 1124 or want to make changes to your reservation. Be sure to add your contact information, actual time of the event, time for set up and take down, expected number of attendees, nature of the event (to warn others if it may be noisy or requires quiet), and any other special information in the “comments” section.

It is the responsibility of the person making the reservation to include all relevant information so that the front desk receptionist can answer any questions regarding the event, direct visitors, etc.
