Global Buddies
In addition to getting involved in student organizations at the University of Iowa and activites within the community of Iowa City, we encourage all international exchange students to join " Global Buddies," a student group which matches incoming exchange students with past study abroad students. About Iowa City
Iowa City is located on the Iowa River, which separates it from the neighboring community of Coralville. Iowa City has a population of approximately 62,000, Coralville about 15,000, and within the two is the University of Iowa's student population of 29,000. Those combined numbers, as people, comprise an engaging and engaged community that is the area's nexus for the arts and the art of commerce.
