The Iowa City Foreign Relations Council ( ICFRC ) will welcome Linn County Supervisor Ben Rogers for a talk on the complex relationship between Pakistan and the U.S. at noon Wednesday, June 29, at the Congregational United Church of Christ, 30 N. Clinton Street, Iowa City.

The talk is free and open to the public with an R.S.V.P. required at http://conta.cc/mwsAro [2] or by calling 319-335-0351. An optional lunch is available at a cost of $8 for ICFRC members and $9 for nonmembers. Luncheon reservations are due by noon Tuesday, June 28.

Just days before Osama Bin Laden was apprehended, Rogers served as a legislative delegate on a privately organized citizen diplomacy trip to Pakistan. The trip consisted of high profile government meetings, as well as a number of private sector meetings, all aimed at promoting unrestricted dialogue between public and private leaders in the U.S. and Pakistan.

Rogers serves as chairman of the Linn County Board of Supervisors for 2011.

Immediately preceding the event, ICFRC will briefly hold its annual meeting where visitors can learn more about the organization.

ICFRC is a community partner of UI International Programs.
