U.S. Student Fulbright Grant Workshop and Panel Discussion

Assistant Director of Outreach and Communications at the Council for International Exchange of Scholars (CIES) Andrew Riess will give a workshop on the Fulbright Program for U.S. Students on Thursday, October 18th, from 1:00–2:15 p.m. in International Commons, UCC 1117.  The Fulbright grant provides a wonderful opportunity to pursue international research or study in all fields, or to teach English abroad, for one academic year.

Also featured will be University of Iowa alumna and graduate student Sarah Lowen, who was awarded a Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship (ETA) grant to South Korea in 2009. The workshop will provide information for undergraduate and graduate students who are interested in learning more about the Fulbright program. There will also be a panel discussion that will include UI Fulbright U.S. Student Program Advisors Karen Wachsmuth (International Programs) and Kelly Thornburg (Honors Scholarship Director).

The workshop is free and open to the public. Students, faculty, staff, and current and past grantees from all Fulbright programs are encouraged to attend.
