Metropolitan Opera in Iowa

Coordinated to the Met Live in HD theater transmissions

All lectures take place in the University Capitol Centre Conference Seminar Room 2520D at 5:30 p.m., are free of charge, and are open to the public.

The lecture series is intended to guide audiences to a better understanding of the Metropolitan Opera performances, which are shown live at Sycamore Cinema [1] in Iowa City and other venues worldwide.

November 28, 2012 - (Wednesday): Robert Ketterer (University of Iowa, Classics), on Mozart’s La clemenza di tito
January 3, 2013* (Thursday): Robert Ketterer (University of Iowa, Classics) and Roberta Marvin (University of Iowa, International Programs), on Berlioz's Les Troyens

January 14, 2013 - (Monday): Katherine Eberle (University of Iowa, Music), on Donizetti’s Maria Stuarda
February 13, 2013 - (Wednesday): Roberta Marvin (University of Iowa, International Programs), on Verdi’s Rigoletto
April 24, 2013 - (Wednesday): Michael Eckert (University of Iowa, Music), on Handel’s Giulio Cesare
