The PhD in Second Language Acquisition requires 72 s.h., including a maximum of 33 s.h. earned in work toward the master's degree. The program is divided into three sections:
- Foundation courses [1] (13 courses, or 39 s.h.)
- Specialization courses [2] (5 courses, or 15 s.h.)
- Dissertation work [3] (18 s.h.)
