Summer Language Camps
Japanese Bunraku Summer Camp!
July 13-17, 2009
9:00 am – 3:00 pm daily at Shimek Elementary School

Join us for a week of fun, learning, and hands-on activities led by trained staff and students!!
Children entering grades 4th through 6th in Fall 2009 are invited to learn about the Japanese language, culture, and the artistic tradition of Bunraku puppetry, featuring guests from the Bunraku Bay Puppet Group.
Daily Schedule of What The Students Will Be Learning:
Day 1: Introduction, how to use name titles, greetings, and basic phrases in Japanese.
Day 2: How to count, tell time, and days of the week
Day 3: Colors, adjectives, and basic sentence structure
Day 4: How to use “I want...” and “I like…”
Day 5: The public is invited to see what the campers have learned all week! Come see two traditional puppet theater pieces in Japan“Keisei Awa no Naruto” and “Sanbaso,” and enjoy Japanese Cuisine!
The camp fee is $159 and includes daily lessons, learning materials, and Japanese snacks. Lunch will not be provided. Registration space is limited and will fill up quickly!
