High School Teacher Award
For International Studies

Purpose: To provide a teacher with a $500 award for a class project in international relations.

Criteria: International scope and focus, coherence, timeliness, proposed outcomes (e.g. for students and curriculum), characteristics of the course

Eligibility: Teachers of classes at City, Regina, Tate and West High Schools, Iowa City

Application process: Send us a two-page (maximum) application and a one-page (maximum) budget by September 1 of the academic year of the course. Applications will be judged by a committee of five, including the ICFRC president and at least two additional board members. The award must be re-authorized annually, and will be granted only if projects warrant.

Notice: The teacher receiving the award will be notified no later than November 1, 2008.

Follow-up: A report reviewing use of funds and outcomes of the course should be submitted to the ICFRC by June 15 of the academic year of the award.
