Walk-in Advising

International students and scholars may see an advisor on a no-appointment, first-come first-served basis. You will meet with the advisor scheduled for walk-in advising rather than a specific advisor.

Hours

Walk-in advising hours are Monday through Friday: 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. AND 1:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. You may sign up for a walk-in slot in the OISS reception area beginning at 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.

Checklist for Walk-in Advising

  • Have you completed all the necessary forms for the process you are requesting?
  • Do you have your passport, I-94, and all I-20/DS-2019 forms with you?
  • If you are seeing an advisor for questions related to your dependents, you will need to have the forms and documentation for all of your F-2/J-2 dependents.
  • Have you thought about other items that might be needed during your time with the advisor? Bringing relevant documents can help avoid a return trip to OISS.
