OISS Affiliated Programs

Provides information on the numerous cross-cultural programs including Cafe Central, OASIS, UI Ambassadors, and Nationality Organizations. These programs and workshops are offered by OISS to students, staff, faculty, departments, and non-University businesses.  Links to the email listserves published by OISS to keep students, scholars, and departments informed of important immigration issues are also found here.

Tax Information

Spring is tax season every year in the U.S.  As students or visiting scholars in F-1 or J-1 status you are legally required to file some type of tax form every year, even if you were not employed in the U.S. 

This section provides information on what forms you need to file and how to file them, a link to a special online tax preparation program for University of Iowa students and scholars in F and J status, as well as tax and Social Security withholding information for those who employ international students in F and J status.
