The University of Iowa’s International Programs brought together students and Iowa City community members during its annual fall meal.

"I want to take a moment to reflect on how my time abroad has impacted my identity as a member of the LGBTQ+ community who also has hearing loss."

Korea Foundation Postdoctoral Fellow Dr. Sunho Ko from the University of Wisconsin, Madison will present “Feeding the People: Collective Dining and Science in Postwar North Korea.”

Laura Evans (BS neuroscience ‘22) is the winner of a Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship Award to South Korea for 2023-24.

International Programs is honored to present the award for this year’s International Parents of the Year to Mohammad Sayeed Hossain and Nasrina Parvin. Mr. Hossain and Mrs. Parvin were nominated by their son, Rezwan Mohammad Sayeed, a PhD candidate in the College of Engineering, from Dhaka, Bangladesh, for being strong advocates for equal rights movements and supporting Rezwan’s educational journey.  

The Multicultural Showcase took place on Friday, November 3 as part of the University of Iowa’s annual celebration of International Education Week. Around 300 UI students, faculty, staff, and community members attended.
