As many of you know, American football is a very popular sport here.  This fall the Iowa Hawkeyes team is currently undefeated, and as a result will play in the Big Ten championship series starting on what will be Sunday, December 6 at 1:17 a.m. GMT (or here it will be Saturday, December 5 at 7:00 p.m. CST).  The University of Iowa Alumni Association has created an opportunity for viewers abroad to watch the game either live or on demand.  http://www.eversport.tv/big-ten/football/2015/12/6/big-ten-championship-michigan-st-at-iowa

In a separate event, International Student and Scholar Services will host a game watching event for your students.  Our Assistant Director, Michael Bortscheller, is a Hawkeyes fan and football expert who will give a brief pre-game overview of American football, some of the rules and terms students may hear, and will stay to give commentary and explanations to the students throughout the game.

We hope that many parents and families are able to experience a bit of American college football and join your students in cheering on the Hawkeyes!
