TIPS cover

For UI students planning to travel abroad, the office for study abroad will hold a variety of in-person information sessions the week of April 18, 2016. In addition to the required training online, every student must sign up to attend at least one of these sessions.  Students can find more information about these sessions and RSVP through our Google form, or by visiting: international.uiowa.edu/study–abroad/prepare.  A $500 scholarship will be awarded to a randomly-selected student who has completed the course by the deadline.

HEALTH AND SAFETY

Safety and you: Meet with UI’s Department of Public Safety (DPS) outreach coordinator for an hour discussing principles of personal safety and crime prevention that can be applied both at home and abroad. Study Abroad staff will also be on hand to answer any questions you may have related to health and safety preparations for your upcoming travel abroad. Participants are encouraged to complete the required online Study Abroad pre-departure course prior to attending this optional session provided by DPS. This session supplements the health and safety information specific to your destination abroad that is provided to you by your study abroad program.
