The second annual Iowa NAFSA International Education Conference will take place Friday, April 25, 2014, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Iowa Memorial Union on the University of Iowa campus.
This conference will be similar to a regional NAFSA conference in that representatives from all facets of international education will be in attendance, but the conference will be unique in that it will be specifically for Iowa. Breakout sessions will cover such topics as employment issues for international students, the difference between F-1 and J-1 students, the underrepresentation of men in study abroad, social media for international education, and more.
Students, faculty, and staff (NAFSA members or non-NAFSA members) are welcome to attend breakout sessions on a drop-in basis. Those wishing to stay for the networking lunch should register on the NAFSA website by Thursday, April 24. Cost for lunch is $20.
See a list of session descriptions and their times. More specific location information will be available on the day of the conference.
Individuals with disabilities are encouraged to attend all University of Iowa-sponsored events. If you are a person with a disability who requires a reasonable accommodation in order to participate in this program, please contact Sarolta Petersen in advance at 319-335-3862.
