In this edition of the “Iowa Insights” podcast, meet Sabah Hussein Enayah, a determined young mother who came to the University of Iowa with a dream: to help re-build her war-torn nation. The 31-year-old graduate student and mother of three shares how she and her family sacrificed everything to come to a strange new country. Enayah is one of five Iraqi students who arrived last fall to pursue a doctorate at the UI. They were selected as part of the Iraq Education Initiative, designed to cultivate the next generation of Iraqi leaders to help stabilize the country and address pressing issues facing Iraqis. “Iowa Insights” is a monthly audio magazine featuring interviews with some of the world’s leading thinkers, researchers and teachers. The podcast is a collaborative project of the UI Office of University Relations and the Center for Media Production. This episode was produced by Lois Gray and Nick Tomlonovic.
