‘Black Colony, White Memory’ is topic of African Studies lecture March 11

Black colony, white memoryThe UI African Studies Program is holding a public lecture, featuring Ruramisai Charumbira of the University of Texas-Austin, on the topic “Black Colony, White Memory: The Price of Commemorating Occupation in Rhodesia, 1890-1980.” The presentation will be held Monday, March 11, from 4-5:30 p.m. in Room 2520D, University Capitol Centre.

This event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.

Ruramisai Charumbira is an assistant professor in the Department of History, the Department of African and African Diaspora Studies, and a Faculty Affiliate of the Center for Women's and Gender Studies at the University of Texas-Austin.
