DAAD Scholarship Study and Research Grants

Deadline

October 20, 2009

About the Program

The German Academic Exchange Service, or DAAD, is an organization offering a variety of funding opportunities for undergraduate, graduate, and professional scholars to study and research throughout Germany. DAAD not only promotes Germany as an important academic destination but also builds ties between universities around the world.

As a DAAD partner Univeristy, The University of Iowa nominates priority candidates for the DAAD Study Scholarship and Research Grant programs. These nominated applicants will be placed in a separate application pool, receiving priority over the general competition. The 2009-2010 UI campus deadline for these programs will be October 20th, 2009.

Study Scholarship

DAAD Study Scholarships are awarded to highly qualified graduating seniors and graduate students of all disciplines to provide the opportunity to study in Germany, or complete a postgraduate or Master’s degree course and obtain a degree from a German higher education institution.

Research Grant

DAAD Research grants are awarded primarily to highly qualified PhD candidates who are early in their academic/professional carrers or to individuals wishing to earn a doctoral degree in Germany. Funding may also be granted to recent PhDs who would like to conduct research..

Application Process

To apply for the DAAD Study Scholarship or Research Grant complete applications must be submitted to 1111NUCC by October 20th, 2009 by 4:45 p.m.
