Yu Li (李昱) is a second year FLARE student and is from Beijing, China.
She has been working in the field of Teaching Chinese as a Second/ Foreign Language (CSL/ CFL) since when she was an undergraduate in Beijing Language and Culture University. Her research interests are second language vocabulary and reading acquisition, and particularly takes an interest in Chinese colloquial idiom comprehension and acquisition. She has done a few studies on this topic so far and it is her dissertation topic.

Micheli Gomes de Souza is a Fulbright Scholar and Teaching Assistant in Portuguese in the Department of Spanish and Portuguese at the University of Iowa. She got her Masters Degree in Applied Linguistics at São Paulo State University in São José do Rio Preto, Brazil, and is currently doing her PhD. in the same academic institution. Engaged in the project "Teletandem Brazil: Foreign Language For All" since 2006, her studies focus on the areas of language learning through collaborative learning, technology, teachers’ development and foreign language acquisition. She also has experience as an English teacher in private language schools in Brazil. |

Anastasia Izmaylova is from Moscow, Russia and is a Previous degrees: M.A. in Spanish, University of Northern Iowa, Cedar Falls, IA; B.A. in Public Administration, Moscow, Russia. Anastasia's research interests are in the pedagogical aspects of SLA, especially in online or blended teaching. She is also interested in researching individual differences in L2 learners and multilingualism. |
