Careers for Change: Vlad Sambaiew

Vladimir Sambaiew, president and chief executive officer, Stanley Foundation, will speak on basic human protections and careers in human rights from 4:00 ? 5:00 pm, Thursday, March 29, in Room 2520D of the University Capitol Centre. Pizza will be served. The event is free and open to the public.  Rachel Gerber, Policy and Outreach program officer at the Stanley Foundation will be presenting with Sambaiew. The presentation is titled "Basic Human Protection ? Issues and Careers."

Sambaiew?s background includes a 30-year career with the US State Department.  Gerber has served with the Peace Corps, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and the United Nations Office in Geneva.

The lecture will discuss working in the field of human rights and different career paths available to students.  They will discuss the area of basic human protections and the Responsibility to Protect (R2P) as mandated by the United Nations. There will be an open discussion following the presentation.
