Dr. C.C. Lee (PhD University of Michigan, MA University of Hawaii, BA Chengchi National University) is chair professor of Media & Communication and director of the Center for Communication Research, City University of Hong Kong, and professor emeritus of Journalism & Mass Communication at the University of Minnesota, where he also directed the China Times Center for Media & Social Studies. A social scientist, humanist, and expert on mass communication in Greater China, he also is a revered teacher and mentor. He was the founding president of the Chinese Communication Association. He has authored, co–authored, edited or co–edited about 20 books as well as authoring some 45 book chapters and scores of academic articles for both English and Chinese–language scholarly publications.
The lecture will focus on the relationship between media and politics in the Chinese context.
