What exactly is the United Nations? Why should we care? Robert Skinner, the director of the UN Foundation's New York headquarters, will discuss the importance of the United Nations in our modern world at the historic Old Capitol Building House Chamber. The program will be held Wednesday, October 24 in commemoration of United Nations Day!

Before originally joining the UN Foundation in April 2006, Robert spent nearly nine years as a Foreign Service Officer in the U.S. Department of State, serving in U.S.

Embassies in Trinidad & Tobago, El Salvador, and Cote d’Ivoire, as well as at the U.S. Mission to the United Nations in New York.

Robert received his law degree from the University of Wisconsin, spending one semester studying European Union Law at the University of Groningen in the Netherlands. His undergraduate degree is from Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan.
