Clary Salandy is the costume and set designer of the University of Iowa's Carnival activities. Come hear her share her expertise, including examples of artwork!
Born in Trinidad and trained in theater design at St. Martin’s in London, Salandy is a carnival artist, theater designer and three–dimensional design tutor specializing in large–scale body sculptures. She studied at the Wimbledon School of Art and is internationally known for her innovative carnival designs, for which she has won many awards. Salandy has taught art foundation courses at Central St. Martins School of Art and at the Prince of Wales’s Institute of Architecture. She has also lectured nationally and internationally.
