Teachers in the Peace Corps make a difference in the lives of their students and the development of their host countries. Returned Peace Corps Volunteers will share their stories of teaching in developing countries, including Jill Anderson (Ukraine), Amy Bowes (Lesotho), Jess Sauer (Namibia), and Dr. Scott McNabb (Thailand). The UI Peace Corps representative will also be on hand to answer questions about how you can make an impact as a Peace Corps teacher. This session is open to all majors: If you do not have teaching certification, there are other ways to qualify for teaching assignments.
This event is part of the University of Iowa’s celebration of International Education Week 2013. See the full schedule of events at http://international.uiowa.edu/community–programs/international–education–week.
