As a renowned scholar of Chinese in the Philippines, Teresita Ang–See has done tremendous work to promote the mutual understanding between the Chinese and native Filipinos in the Philippines, as well in other Southeast Asian countries. She worked to improve community life for poor and indigenous Filipinos and led a movement to eliminate crime and corruption that were rampant in the Philippines.
