Courses at the Confucius Institute
The Confucius Institute at the University of Iowa is working to bridge the gap between the United States and China by promoting cultural understanding through cross-cultural communication and dialogue. There's no better way to do that than to offer Iowans a range of fun and affordable courses in Chinese language and culture!
Non-credit community courses are offered in Iowa City for adults (age 14 and up) and children (age 5 to 13 years old). All ability levels are welcome!
Credit courses are offered through the University of Iowa Chinese Department
The Confucius Institute courses in Chinese language and culture give students an opportunity to learn Chinese from native speakers and to gain insights into Chinese culture from knowledgeable individuals with vast experience.
All students and teachers are expected to be respectful and courteous to others and to help the Confucius Institute maintain a safe and welcoming environment for all individuals interested in Chinese language and culture.
Individuals with disabilities are encouraged to attend all University of Iowa-sponsored events. If you are a person with a disability who requires accommodation in order to participate in this program, please contact the Confucius Institute in advance at 319.335.0159 or at firstname.lastname@example.org.
