Taiji Classes
Course instructor
All Taiji levels are facilitated by Haiming CHEN. Mr. CHEN is a passionate and gifted Taiji trainer. He started practicing Taiji in 1980 and has offered Taiji classes in China, Japan and the US for more than twenty years for local communities. He received a certificate of Coaching Authorization in 2007. His Taiji training program integrates classical Taiji styles and principles. He has made contemporary Taiji forms in series to suit people for practicing Taiji in different levels.
Taiji Level I Workshop-Enrollment is open
Taiji was originally designed focus on self-defense, and has gradually evolved as an effective means for flexibility, relaxation, stress control, and overall health enhancement. In this session, students will learn fundamental Taiji movements: Ward-off, Roll Back, Press and Push in a Four Hands form. Enrollment is open to ages 13 and up. Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult (though the adult does not have to participate). All students must sign a waiver to participate in this course.

Taiji Level I-Enrollment is currently closed
太极 A mind-body practice known for increasing flexibility, relaxation and overall health also known as tai chi or tai qi. Beginners welcome.

Taiji Level II-Enrollment is currently closed
In this continued session, you will learn Taiji breathing technical with fundamental Taiji drills: Open-Close, Rolling the Ball, Cloud Hands. Four Hands associate with Taiji breathing. You will experience real Taiji movement. Accomplishment of Taiji Level I is required. Enrollment is open to ages 13 and up. Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult (though the adult does not have to participate). All students must have a signed waiver on file to participate in this course.

Taiji Level III-Enrollment currently closed
In this session, students will practice Taiji Four Hands form and drills smoothly and naturally. Learn Basic Taiji form: Repulse Monkey, Brush Knee and Twist Step, Part Wild Horse's Mane, Cloud Hand, Golden Rooster Stands on One Leg, Kick, and Grasp Bird's Tail with Taiji breathing technique. Accomplishment of Taiji Level I and II are required. Enrollment is open to ages 13 and up. Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult (though the adult does not have to participate). All students must have a signed waiver on file to participate in this course.

Taiji Level IV-enrollment is currently closed
In this session, students will learn Small Step Form. Small Step Form is synthesized through various Taiji styles. It is designed for people to practice Taiji at office or at home with a limited space. Students will have a holistic Taiji experience. Accomplishment of Taiji Level III is required. Enrollment is open to ages 13 and up. Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult (though the adult does not have to participate). All students must have a signed waiver on file to participate in this course.

Four Hands Taiji Club: New in 2013 Enrollment is open
Members in Four Hands Taiji Club will master Small Step Form primarily. In addition, members will practice Push Hands, and learn Taiji Fan and other forms of Taiji. It is possible for a member to become a Four Hands Taiji Instructor Assistant after training. To join of the Club, accomplishment of Taiji Level IV is required.
