The reading will be in Spanish, the conversación will be bilingual, Spanish/English.
Luis Humberto Crosthwaite, a native of Tijuana, is the author of nine books, including the novels La luna siempre será un amor difícil, El gran preténder, and Idos de la mente: la increíble y (a veces) triste historia de Ramón y Cornelio; the collections of short stories, Marcela y el rey, al fin juntos, Mujeres en traje de baño caminan solitarias por las playas de su llanto, No quiero escribir, no quiero, Estrella de la calle sexta, and Instrucciones para cruzar la frontera; and the testimonio, Lo que estará en mi corazón. He has also co-edited the collection Puro Border: Dispatches, Snapshots & Graffiti from the US/Mexico Border, and was the principal editor and publisher of a small press dedicated to writing from northern Mexico, ediciones Yoremito. Currently an editor at the San Diego Union-Tribune, he also writes frequently on life at the US/Mexico border for periodicals in Mexico and the United States.
