The UICHR encourages students to explore human rights internship opportunities in Iowa, the nation, and around the world. The Center is also committed to helping students secure these internships. Volunteer/Intern at the UICHR
The work of the UICHR depends on the contributions of students and community members. The UICHR offers short-term and long-term internship experiences.
Funding for Internships in the Field of Human Rights
The Kenneth J. Cmiel Funded Human Rights Internship Program provides funding to selected students who have secured a summer internship with a local, national or international non-governmental organization or governmental agency engaged in human rights related advocacy, research, or education.
The Burns H. Weston Funded Human Rights Internship Program provides funding to selected students to participate in an international internship opportunity designated by the UICHR.
