Since its inception, CAPS has supported several major conferences that have provided opportunities for faculty and students to interact with leading scholars from throughout the world. These conferences are often sponsored in conjunction with other centers at the University of Iowa. CAPS also sponsors lectures and cultural events as part of its service mission to disseminate information about the nations of East and Southeast Asia to interested people in the community.
