Al-Ma’ani receives University of Iowa delegation
A delegation from the University of Iowa visited the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to observe the experiences of some educational and health institutions. The delegation consisted of Dr. Downing Thomas and Dr. Jay Sa-Aadu. They were welcomed by His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Dr. Walid Al-Maani, who gave them a briefing on the status of higher education in Jordan.
The delegation began their trip by visiting the National Center for Diabetes, where they were received by HE Dr. Kamel Ajlouni Director of the Centre; he provided detailed explanation about the services provided by the centre in the area of prevention and treatment for patients with diabetes, and the methods used in it.
Also the delegation visited the Jordanian International Schools (JIS), where they were welcomed by Mr. Mohammad Yousuf Hammouri, the Chairman of the Schools. During the visit the school principle Ms. Naheel Abdullah briefed them on the school facilities and components, and provided them with a detailed explanation about the education system and curriculum taught by the school.
Then the delegation visited the Specialty Hospital, where they met Dr. Fawzi Hammouri, general manager of the hospital. He briefed on the facilities of the hospital and medical services provided by the hospital to keep pace with the development of technical and medical in the world. The delegation ended their visit to the University of Philadelphia, where they were received by His Excellency Dr. Marwan Kamal, Chairman of the University, who illustrated the university experience in the field of higher education in Jordan.
