Beginning Chinese class for community members begins Oct. 2

Interested in learning Chinese? The Confucius Institute at the University of Iowa will offer a 5-week elementary Mandarin Chinese class for community members starting Oct. 2. Beginning students will learn pronunciation and tones, basic strokes and character writing, and daily conversational phrases.

The class will be held Oct. 2 to Nov. 4 on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 5:00-6:15 p.m. in 1124 University Capitol Centre. Cost is $100 tuition plus $50 for books and materials. Enrollment is open to anyone age 14 and up.

Iowa City/Johnson County Senior Center members receive a 10% discount on community course tuition fees.
