‘Maria Stuarda’ UI opera talk is Jan. 14

The UI Opera Studies Forum will present a pre-opera talk on Donizetti’s Maria Stuarda on Monday, Jan. 14, at 5:30 p.m. in the University Capitol Centre Conference Seminar Room 2520D. This event is free and open to the public.

UI professor Katherine Eberle will guide audiences through the story of Maria Stuarda in preparation for the Metropolitan Opera’s Live in HD theater transmissions of the production, which are shown live at venues worldwide. Maria Stuarda will be screened at Sycamore Cinema in Iowa City on Saturday, Jan. 19, at 11:55 a.m.
