Common questions

Where do I learn how much a program costs?

Cost is a factor all students should consider when selecting a program—or deciding whether or not to study abroad. Costs vary considerably by program, as does what is included in the program fee and what isn't. For each UI study abroad program, the Study Abroad office produces a Cost Sheet which add up all anticipated expenses, including air fare and personal spending money. Cost Sheets can be found on the Application tab of each program page.

What are study abroad administrative fees?

From providing individualized advising services and pre-departure orientations to processing the transfer of credit once you're back, UI study abroad uses administrative fees to support your entire international journey, from beginning to end.

Can I use financial aid?

Most financial aid (scholarships, grants, and loans) is applicable to study abroad programs. You are encouraged to speak with someone at the Office of Student Financial Aid to further explore financial aid options.  Learn more about using financial aid.
